Together we are changing the world – results of the Christmas fair
The Respect Energy Christmas fair was more than just an employee initiative. It was real help that reached specific people and communities. Behind every number there is a human story—everyday life, challenges, and hope for a better future.
Sierra Leone – Freetown and Bonjema Village, Kenema District
Thanks to the funds raised during the fair, we launched nine long-term projects in six countries across Africa and Asia. At the heart of each of them are women and girls—their independence, health, education, and safety. By supporting them, we strengthen entire communities.
Initiatives supporting women’s micro-entrepreneurship were established. Soap bar production was launched, as well as activities related to preparing and street-selling meals.
A group of women also began cultivating new crops—pepper, peanuts, and cassava. They received training, seeds, and the necessary tools for their work.
As a result, the women gained a stable source of income and greater financial independence, which translates into improved security for their families.
Myanmar (Burma) – field schools in the jungle in Karenni State and Southern Shan State
Female students from an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp received reusable cotton sanitary pads. Teachers, caregivers, and doctors from the field hospital were provided with menstrual cups.
This support ensures dignity, promotes health, and enables continued education without exclusion.
Uganda – Bikurungu, Kanungu District
20-year-old Miracle, who due to a disability had previously moved on all fours, received a wheelchair as well as basic sleeping equipment—a mattress and bedding.
This support ensures dignity, promotes health, and enables continued education without exclusion.
Madagaskar – Antananarywa
Girls from the Akany Avoko Bevalala care center received books and high school textbooks, enabling them to continue their education.
At the same time, a program for sewing reusable cotton sanitary pads is being developed there, supporting girls’ health and hygiene while also teaching practical skills and independence.
This is support for dignity, hygiene, and health, as well as practical learning of self-reliance.
Liberia – Gbowee and neighboring villages, Sasstown
A renovation and full restoration of a water pump used by several nearby villages was carried out.
Access to clean water means better health, safety, and basic infrastructure for the entire community.
The benefits of these projects are tangible and long-term
- Women’s financial independence is increasing,
- Girls gain access to education, and health and hygiene conditions improve,
- Local entrepreneurship is developing,
- Communities gain greater security and access to basic infrastructure.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of the fair and supported this initiative. Together, we are building a company that does not only speak about values—but actively puts them into practice.
