On October 21, 2025, a press conference dedicated to supporting people affected by last year’s flood was held in Stronie Śląskie. The event summarized the Corporate Connections™ PL initiative, which brought together the business community, mobilizing companies to donate funds for the reconstruction of flooded areas and to provide direct support to flood victims who lost their life savings and possessions as a result of the disaster.

On the night of September 14–15, the dam of the flood control reservoir on the Morawka stream in Stronie Śląskie was breached. As a result of an extreme flood wave—more than four times exceeding the reservoir’s designed capacity—a devastating flood swept through the town. Roads, bridges, residential buildings, and technical infrastructure were destroyed. Stronie Śląskie was almost completely cut off from the outside world, and many residents lost the results of their life’s work. Damage to municipal infrastructure was estimated at several hundred million zlotys.

Business that operates with responsibility

In the face of the tragedy, the business community joined forces as part of the “Entrepreneurs for Flood Victims” initiative. The total support provided by participating companies amounted to PLN 123 million, of which PLN 23 million was direct financial assistance. Thanks to these funds, it was possible, among other things, to build a new housing estate in Stronie Śląskie, consisting of 24 apartments for families who lost their homes as a result of the flood.

More than a year has passed since the flood, yet the memory of the tragedy experienced by the residents of Lower Silesia remains vivid. The event is a reminder of how important human solidarity, presence, and mutual support are. For Respect Energy, this is not a one-off gesture, but part of the company’s mission—acting not only for the future of the energy sector, but also for a better future and everyday life for all of us.
