Earth Day at the MOST Cooperative Farm

On the occasion of Earth Day, as part of employee volunteering, we spent the afternoon at the MOST Cooperative Farm—a unique place on the map of Warsaw.
About the MOST Cooperative Farm
- The cooperative has been operating since 2023 and was established on a 3.6-hectare site of former allotment gardens. It was initiated by an interdisciplinary team of academics, gardeners, educators, designers, and environmentalists who together created a place with a unique character.
- It is the only urban farm in Warsaw operating in a cooperative and agroecological model. It combines food production with education and social activities, creating an open space for residents and volunteers.
- Its activities are based on the principles of agroecology and permaculture, while also developing food processing and testing innovative solutions in urban agriculture.
During our day at the farm, we took part in, among others:
- building a trellis for kiwi plants,
- preparing soil and planting potatoes,
- tending garden beds and harvesting herbs, which were later used for a shared meal—bread with butter and fresh herbs tasted exceptional,
- tasting the fruit-and-herb drink “Holobiont,” prepared from farm products,
and working alongside members of the Association of Families and Caregivers of People with Down Syndrome “Bardziej Kochani,” which gave the day a particularly social dimension.
Summary
It is worth emphasizing that this afternoon was more than just work on the farm. The shared activities demonstrated how environmental care, education, and relationship-building can come together in practice—creating a space for cooperation and integration.
