What are cookie files and what do they do?

  1. Cookie files (so-called “cookies”) are IT data, in particular text files. As a result, most institutions and companies are able to work continuously to improve the quality of the information provided.

  2. The web browser usually allows storage of cookies on the terminal device by default. Cookies are commonly used by entities communicating through websites. Nowadays they are used by all social networks and most entities active on the Internet. They are tools considered as more advanced than typical market segmentation in the marketing sense, as they allow customisation to the User’s requirements, needs and expectations.
