What is energy transition – and why is it important?

Students will understand what energy transition is and why it is necessary in Poland and around the world. They will learn about Poland’s current energy mix, the main reasons for change – from climate protection, through economic and political issues, to health – and the effects of burning fossil fuels on the environment and people. Students will also learn about the economic benefits of developing renewable energy sources, nuclear energy, and new technologies, and will understand how the transition increases the country’s energy security. During the classes, they will learn what climate neutrality is and how it can be achieved, learn about examples of actions taken by other countries, and develop critical thinking skills by learning to distinguish facts from myths related to energy.
