As part of the Pure Power of Energy project, Respect Energy Holding has published the book “Climate Change” co-authored by His Majesty King Charles III, for the first time in the Polish language. This publication helps young children understand what the climate is, how it changes and what it means for life on Earth.
The Earth’s climate has changed many times in the past due to natural developments in the Earth’s environment. However, the climate change occurring today is the result of human actions and is occurring at an unnaturally rapid pace.
One of the priorities of the Respect Energy Group’s sustainable development strategy is to conduct educational activities on climate change and expand knowledge about the leading role of renewable energy sources in the energy transition, which is why we have decided to publish the book “Climate Change” in the Polish language, with an afterword by His Majesty King Charles III. It’s a guide for the youngest to understand what the climate is, how it’s changing and what it means for life on Earth.
The publication looks at the causes and effects of climate change on the lives of people and nature, and highlights small changes that everyone can make today to slow down and ultimately stop advancing climate change.
His Majesty King Charles III is a well-known promoter of environmental and climate topics. For more than 50 years, he has worked with companies, charities, governments and others to promote sustainable ways of living and working. The former prince gave his first speech on the environment back in December 1968, and has long warned of the irreversible effects of climate change. His Royal Highness, as Prince of Wales, launched the Sustainable Markets Initiative at the World Economic Forum 2020 Annual Meeting in Davos.
Co-author of the book, Professor Emily Shuckburgh, director of the Cambridge Zero Initiative on Climate Change at Cambridge University, said:
"Today's children only know of a planet ravaged by climate change. This book explains what's happening, why it's happening and what we can all do about it. Children are our future, and this book is about their future"
