How does electricity get to the socket?

During this lesson, students will learn how electricity is sent to the wall outlet – from the source of energy to home installations. Through interactive tasks and analysis of different types of power plants, they will consider their impact on the landscape and environment. The lesson ends with an educational game “Fact or Myth,” through which students will learn to identify and debunk popular myths about renewable energy.

After the lesson, students should know the answers to the following questions:

1

What is electric current and how can it be defined in most simple terms?

2

What are the main sources of electricity and how do renewable sources differ from non-renewable sources?

3

Why are power plants being built in certain locations in Poland?

4

Which energy sources work best in different regions of Poland and why?

5
