PRECOP 2025 – Together for the Climate and a Sustainable Future
We have completed the fourth edition of the largest climate conference in this part of Europe – PRECOP, which took place on October 1–2, 2025, at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The event gathered nearly 1,000 participants, including 800 attending in person.
PRECOP is a two-day, recurring conference organized by PTWP Group and the UN Global Compact Network, providing a platform for international discussion on climate, energy transition, and the future of the planet. This year’s edition served as a lead-up to the UN Climate Summit COP 30, which will take place on November 10–21, 2025, in Belém, Brazil.
During the conference, participants shared their experiences, best practices, and innovative solutions that can be implemented at the local, national, and international levels. The agenda of PRECOP 2025 aligned with the priorities set for COP30 – in particular biodiversity protection, a just transition, and the shift from negotiations to real climate action. Discussions also focused on climate education, transparency and corporate responsibility, sustainable economy, and the role of technology in combating climate change.
Respect Energy’s involvement in PRECOP 2025
As a partner of the event, Respect Energy actively participated in panel discussions, sharing its experience and business perspective. In the panel “Energy, Economy, Transformation,” Tomasz Zadroga, Chief Investment Officer at Respect Energy, spoke, emphasizing:
“We should not focus exclusively on large-scale investments that take years to implement. A real path to lowering energy costs and ensuring energy security lies in smaller, distributed generation sources and energy storage systems – both local and large-scale – that support the stability of the grid. At the same time, the development of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) is crucial, as they can provide stable energy directly to large consumers, ensuring predictable costs for decades.”
– Tomasz Zadroga, Chief Investment Officer Respect Energy
In the panel “Climate Education,” Katarzyna Teter, ESG Manager at Respect Energy, highlighted the need for a common language in discussions about the climate:
“Climate education should be a cross-cutting issue, addressed both to children and adults. It is important that discussions about the climate are not used in current political debates. We should speak simply, with respect for the audience, and show tangible benefits—for example, for local communities. This is when education about renewable energy works best, because everyone understands what they truly gain.”

White Paper – a joint business voice for the climate
During PRECOP 2025, the White Paper prepared by the Business Council at PRECOP was presented. This is a unique document that brings together the voices of companies and institutions engaged in shaping Poland’s future with the goal of achieving climate neutrality.
This year’s White Paper publication serves as a call for sustained dialogue and partnership between the public and private sectors. The document outlines concrete solutions that can accelerate the achievement of climate goals and strengthen Poland’s position in the energy transition.
The White Paper draws inspiration from European best practices, such as Germany’s systemic approach to dialogue, Ireland’s education-based model of implementing regulations, and broad stakeholder participation in Wallonia. These examples demonstrate that transparent legislation, cross-sector cooperation, and social trust are the foundations of effective climate policy.
We would like to thank the organizers of PRECOP – PTWP Group and UN Global Compact Network Poland – for creating a space for dialogue, exchange of experiences, and joint action.
The conclusions are clear: the energy transition is a process that requires cooperation between public administration, business, and society, and business plays a key role in this process as a partner that combines vision, innovation, and responsibility – the foundations of a green future.
